This Day in Design History
October 14th, 1884 was the day George Eastman received his patent for the new paper-strip photographic film. In 1888 George coupled his new patented technology with his invention of the Kodak Camera. This revolutionized photography and made it widely accessible to the unskilled photographer.
George, being raised in Rochester, New York, started the Kodak Company alongside Henry Strong. He was a lover of travel and music and was a philanthropist in his community.
Happy patent day George!
