Holiday Event Featured Vendors

More Vendors! Oh my, we are so excited it’s all happening tomorrow. The holiday market is finally here, so let us introduce you to our final round of vendors that you’ll have the pleasure of shopping tomorrow.

  1. Torba Handmade

“One of my kids asked, “Mom, could you make a chalk bag for me?”

With no formal training in design, figuring out the construction of the bag was an interesting challenge. What looks so simple actually has 16 pieces of canvas and various doodads that fit together into a neat little package. Eventually, climbers at the local gym saw the chalk bags and wanted their own. With the help of my family, I started making small batches to sell at local gyms.

We decided to name our little venture TORBA, which is Polish for “bag” and is a nod to my family heritage. TORBA has become a family affair. My husband helps with the waxing process and has streamlined cutting the fabric. I do all the construction, sewing, and general mess-making. Meanwhile, our teenage kids are TORBA ambassadors wherever they climb.”

5. Roaring Springs Home

In an article with Buffalo Rising Lydia discusses how she started her amazing vintage shop. “I started antiquing with my mom in the Adirondacks when I was young,” said Lydia. “The name of the shop is from my mom – she grew up just outside of Roaring Spring, PA. I’ve always been a bit of a packrat in a lot of ways. When I decided to open the shop, my husband was supportive. I figured, it was either time for a divorce, or I had to find a place for all this stuff [laughing].”
